Dr. Scott Musicant
Medical Director
Scott E. Musicant, M.D., grew up in La Mesa, California and graduated from Valhalla High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at UCLA in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Vermont in 1998. Following medical school Dr. Musicant moved to Portland, Oregon where he completed 5 years of general surgical training and a year of vascular research and his two-year fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
Since completing his training in 2006, Dr. Musicant has been actively practicing in San Diego and has developed a busy and reputable cosmetic vein practice. In 2019 he partnered with Molly Shea, RN and together they started San Diego Aesthetics and Med Spa. Since opening, San Diego Aesthetics and Med Spa has become the premier medical spa in East County.

Molly Shea has worked as a Registered Nurse in the aesthetic medicine industry for over 15 years. Throughout the course of her career, she has accumulated a wealth of experience in a wide range of aesthetic treatments from noninvasive cosmetics to plastic surgery. Her specialty

Makenna Buckley
Aesthetic RN
Makenna Buckley, RN, has over 7 years of nursing experience in multiple fields of practice. Makenna has acquired an advanced knowledge in aesthetics where she has been able to combine both her passion for beauty and her medical skill set. Her favorite part about aesthetic nursing is the ability to make people feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.
Maura Baban
Operations Director, Aesthetician
Maura Baban has worked in medical aesthetics for over a decade, assisting in a variety of roles in both front and back office. She earned her certification as a Licensed Aesthetician in 2015 in her home state of Pennsylvania and her second certification in California in 2017. Her focus is on corrective skincare, customizing each client's treatment to their own unique needs. Maura's favorite part of working in aesthetics is the relationships she builds with her clients in the process of helping them achieve their healthiest skin. In her role as Operations Director of San Diego Aesthetics & Med Spa, Maura strives to create a welcoming environment where patients can feel safe knowing they will receive exceptional care from the best team of service providers.
Anna Fox
Aesthetician, Body Contouring Specialist
Anna Fox has been practicing in medical aesthetics since receiving her certification in 2013. Her passion for skin care came at an early age while struggling with her own skin, giving her a unique understanding of her patient’s needs. The techniques she has learned through her years of hands-on experience and continued education helps her customize and treat each patient’s specific skin care concerns with a gentle, healing touch.
Kristen Gangel
Patient Care Coordinator, Body Contouring Specialist
Kristen has worked in aesthetics for over 4 years. She has specialized in providing body contouring treatments since 2022. As Patient Care Coordinator, Kristen helps to create the warm, welcoming environment that we are known for at San Deigo Aesthetics and Med Spa. Kristen is currently enrolled in an accelerated RN, BSN program receiving her licensing to become a nurse injector. She is excited to be able to learn from great mentors and work closely with patients to continue to develop her skills.
Leslie Valverde
Patient Care Coordinator
Leslie Valverde has been working in the medical aesthetics industry for 4 years. After a decade of experience in the cosmetics and beauty space, she found her passion for medical aesthetics and gaining knowledge about the various treatments available to help with the aging process. As our Patient Care Coordinator, she loves helping patients with their treatment journey and making them feel at ease as soon as they enter our doors. In her free time, she is a Freelance make-up artist and enjoys making her clients feel beautiful!
Carrie Musicant – PA
Carrie Musicant, PA, received her B.S. in Physician Assistant Studies from Oregon Health & Science University in 2001. Since 2009 she has worked as a Physician’s Assistant and Surgical Assistant at Vascular Associates of San Diego where she specializes in both vascular and cardiovascular surgical cases. Carrie loves being a part of the team at San Diego Aesthetics where she helps to ensure a safe, comfortable experience for patients.
